THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DARE TO BE VULNERABLE

How To Be Vulnerable In Relationships

On VProud, Ash Beckham\’s TED Talk has been making us think since the first time we watched it. The conversation is called, \”We all have skeletons in our closet: Does sharing your deep dark secrets help you get rid of emotional baggage?\” and it is, quite literally, a must-watch.

Ash takes the listener through her own coming out story, then perfectly explains how every single one of us has closets of our own, things that we are not authentic and truthful about, and while the actual closets may differ, the process of coming out of them and the learning how to be vulnerable and strong that this requires, is essentially the same.

This concept blew our minds.

Ash says that the secret to learning how to be vulnerable in relationships comes down to first owning that living inauthentically can literally kill you. She says:

\”A closet is no place for a person to truly live.\”
There is so very much truth to this, isn\’t there? We think that deep down inside most of us know this and strive to live authentically, to just be ourselves, but do not always know how to go about it.

With an epic closing slide, that we really and truly think you need to see for yourself, Ash shares her three-step plan for coming out of all of our own closets, whatever they may be. The steps are:

  • Be authentic
  • Be direct
  • Be unapologetic

We love Ash\’s message so very much and are inspired to really take stock of our own closets and to take the first steps toward coming right out of them.
